| Absolute Acquisition of Poker Site Complete Yesterday it was announced that one of the most successful acquisitions in the poker industry has reached its completion stage.
Absolute Poker, one of the most popular poker sites on the internet, that serves literally millions of players at all levels, recently acquired Vegas 247 – another popular site that has been acting as a skin site for Absolute Poker for some time now. The merger between the two sites will see the Vegas 247 brand name eliminated and bring players one of the most diversified – and largest – gambling sites around. Further terms of the acquisition are still to be made public, following the finalization of the merger.
Mr. Joe Norton, owner of Towkiro Enterprises ENRG, the company that has a 100% interest in Absolute Poker said: “Today’s online gaming community demands and expects a transformative gaming experience that seamlessly integrates superior technology, responsiveness to customer needs, and a safe and secure environment in which to play. Absolute Poker and Vegas Poker 247 are at the center of this trend, and this acquisition will build on our combined heritage to redefine the online gaming experience.”
Since the inception of Vegas 247, Absolute Poker has been providing the site with back office and operational support. This makes the entire acquisition process much simpler, as it removes the need to transfer player data that is already part and parcel of Absolute Poker’s secure site for service reasons. Absolute Poker has already announced that it intends to honor and operate all Vegas 247’s tournaments, although under its own brand name. This week, Absolute Poker will begin the migration of players’ accounts from Vegas 247 to its own site – a process that is expected to be quick and seamless thanks to the technology on both sites.
Absolute Poker was recently involved in a security breach scandal when it was revealed that an employee at the poker room was able to see everybody’s hole cards and transferred the information to a conspirator.
The problem was brought to the attention of the Kahnawake Gaming Commission under whose jurisdiction Absolute Poker operates and sanctions were imposed on the site. Among them, random audits will be conducted at the site for a period of two years and a fine of $500,000 was also issued.
