| April 16th Neteller Arraignment Pushed Back 30 Days On April 16th, 2007 many followers and ex-customers of Neteller expected to hear the fate of the two Neteller co-founders. This was the set date for the arraignment hearing for John Lefebvre and Steve Lawrence. So what happened? After scouring the internet and not finding any news about the Neteller arraignment held yesterday we contacted Rebekah Carmichael of the New York US Attorney’s Press Office to see exactly what the deal was.
According to Rebekah, the arraignment consisted of three viable options. She called what happened yesterday a “Preliminary Hearing” where three outcomes could have come about. They could have been to indict the co-founders, to not indict, or to push things back 30 days.
The third route was taken and things will be postponed so to speak for another 30 days. This comes after another postponement last month.
So what causes these 30 day postponements? Rebekah says that if all parties are not in agreement among the terms then these postponements occur.
Online gamblers still wait for Neteller to come up with a viable plan to distribute funds to their ex-US customers. These funds were frozen in accounts almost 3 months ago on January 16th. Pending transactions which were placed prior to that date were also held.
On this day today, April 17th Neteller now has 48 days of the allotted 75 days to come up with a way to distribute frozen funds back to their customers. This does not mean customers will receive their funds in 48 days, but instead Neteller entered into an agreement with the USAO to continue their efforts to return monies owed.
Hourly updates will continue to be monitored at our US Poker webpage.
