| GSN Announces 2008 WPT Schedule GSN, the new network home of the World Poker Tour, has announced the telecast schedule for the airing of the sixth season of the WPT.
From March 24th, poker fans will be glued to their seats every Monday night at 9 pm (ET/PT) to watch two hours of action packed, heart stopping poker excitement. Said Steve Liscombe, founder and President of World Poker Tour Enterprises: “We couldn't be more thrilled to have GSN as our partner and the new home of WPT. GSN and WPT are dedicated to collectively broadening the poker experience for fans and viewers and cannot wait to kick off our best season yet."
The new season promises to be bigger and better than ever, and viewers will be able to watch no less than 20 new millionaires make their fortune playing poker. Three new tour stops will also be featured this season. All in all 23 two-hour episodes will be aired each Monday night.
The newest face this season is the lovely G4 and Fox Net Sports Layla Kayleigh, who will join the popular announcing team Vince Patten and Mike Patten, to provide exciting updates and player interviews from the sidelines. And online WPT players may recognize their hostess Kimberley Lansing who will also debut this season, providing a tantalizing look at the pre-tournament action.
The WPT show will follow GSN’s popular cash game series, ‘High Stake Poker’. A repeat episode of the WPT episode will be screened each Monday night at midnight, as well as the following Sunday night from 7-9 pm (ET/PT).
So what can poker fans expect to see in the sixth season of the televised WPT? GSN promises to air tournaments from some of the most popular and prestigious casinos around the globe. The schedule will begin with two events from Las Vegas and will continue to include footage from the Commerce Hotel in Los Angeles, the Bellagio in Las Vegas and the Borgata Hotel and Casino in Atlantic City.
Some of the action will include the Foxwoods World Poker Finals in June, as well as the WPT Celebrity Inventional at the Commerce Casino in Los Angeles. The sixth WPT season will end off with the World Championship in on August 25, 2008.
