| Mac, Windows, Parallel, Leopard Oh My Clarifications are made on the rumors about Macs coming with virtualization methods. Many Mac users were speculating about the possibility of Leopard coming pre-installed with virtualization methods such as parallels. Apple has confirmed that in no way do they plan on this.
So why is Apple.com pushing Parallels, a Windows virtualization method, in their ad campaigns instead of Boot Camp? Apple is seeking after the business market.
Boot Camp requires users to shut down their Mac OS side while they boot up their Windows system. This just doesn’t cut it for businesses and working professionals. Parallels allow users to run both at the same time and thus why Apple is promoting it.
It is expected that because of Virtualization methods Apple computers are going to grow by 3 times in household use, says Macworld.com. Apple will also see more virtualization methods underway from places like Codeweaver.
Popular reasons to Dual Boot continue to be for online gaming. Games that are 3D require many users to run Windows through Boot Camp. Ordinary Mac consumers don’t seem to mind having to reboot.
High product costs of Apple Macintosh computers are also keeping demand low in the business sector. Prices for Macs continue to stay slightly above other PC’s while small and large businesses alike look to cut expenses.
Similar to the price problems related to the Mac business potential, some daily consumers are refusing to pay the high costs of Windows to perform the Dual Boot.
