| Apple’s iPod Finds Potential Rival The Apple iPod will be getting some competition when Microsoft releases their version of the iPod called the Argo. Microsoft has watched Apple Macintosh make enough money off the MP3 market and plans to stir up competition in this field. The Microsoft Argo is expected sometime in December of 2006 which will be the Microsoft counterpart to the Apple iPod.
The Argo is expected to have wireless internet access so that users can download music away from their laptop. Many are rumoring that Apple will come out with their wireless candidate before Microsoft does leaving the Argo in the dust.
This so called iPod killer is not worrying Apple enthusiasts. Mac users believe the draw to the iPod is not just its features but also the design and quality. Microsoft will not only have to develop a great product but give further reason for iPod lovers to swap out products.
Apple iPod customers whom are encouraging the Argo say competition will only bring newer and better features to both devices. The next thing on MP3 users wish list is a true video device built in advancing the current video capabilities in the iPod.
Pictures of the supposed Argo have surfaced. The overall design is very similar to the iPod but with a larger screen surface area. One large button is found in the center with two smaller buttons on the side.
Pictures of the Argo can be found here.
