Apple says they will now accept old computers for new Mac buyers for free.

The recycling of computers is not fresh news but having Apple do it for free is.  Apple has let consumers know that when they purchase a new Mac the disposal of their old computer will be free.

Simply putting an old computer into the trash is not environmentally safe.  Local garage companies will not accept things such as monitors or computer parts.  Apple says they will also offer free shipping for the new computer and the old one if you recycle your old one.

There are some skeptical Mac users who are saying that Apple just plans on refurbishing the parts and using them again.  Some Mac customers will plan on keeping their old computers for parts as well.  Apple has not yet announced whether they will use these old computers for parts but it is general consensus that Apple simply plans to recycle them and not reuse the parts.

The recycling of old Apple computers will begin in June for Mac and non Mac users who purchase a new computer from Apple’s retail or online store.
