| New PowerMac G 5 Body - Mac Pro The PowerMac G5 is said to be getting new body enclosures next month and could be renamed to Mac Pro. Apple has placed a trademark on the name “Mac Pro” as many suspect they will rename the PowerMac G5. The new name will symbolize the Intel Core 2 Duo processor referred to as
Conroe.
The new body enclosure is expected to have an extensive difference from earlier models. The internal organs will be similar to the PowerMac G5’s that have come out.
Large differences in the enclosure were spurred by the need to let consumers know there was a difference between models. Users will instantly be able to tell the difference of the PowerPC and Intel Core 2 Duo PowerMac’s.
It is also said that new enclosures could come for the MacBook Pro. The body enclosures are not expected until a similar adoption of the Intel Core 2 Duo.
Dates of the first viewing of the new enclosures will be seen next month. The computer will debut at the World Wide Developers Conference.
The talk of these new PowerMac G5 enclosures seems to be positive. Mac enthusiasts at Macrumors.com and Thinksecret.com are hoping for a smaller enclosure with some looking for a black anodized alloy enclosure.
