What a way to spend time with one of the most glamorous women in the online poker scene, even if only in virtual space. She plays $1/$2 No-Limit games so the stakes are not that high.

Serinda’s tryst with poker began at Absolutepoker not too long ago in 2006. Her then boyfriend had signed up for an account with the online poker room and Serinda began playing alongside him. She soon got hooked on Texas Hold’em. They say fortune favors the bold and Serinda is definitely that. Just then Absolute poker began auditioning for a spokes model and Serinda met both requirements – traffic stopping looks and knowledge of poker. It was a cakewalk to becoming the Absolute Poker Girl and adding that to her long list of achievements. She has starred in movies like Loch Ness and Neal and Nikki, done television series like Exes and Ohs and modeled for many products. She was selected from 75,000 global applicants for the Guess campaign.

Serinda hails from Vancouver in British Columbia. She started modeling at the age of 14 and after four hectic years decided to change tracks for a while. Modeling was fun but the weight constraint was getting on to her. She wanted to let her body develop naturally before taking a final call on the profession. So she did a few movies and television serials. By that time she realized that she was a natural model and so she sent her portfolio to Guess. Now Serinda wants to do modeling, acting, hosting and playing poker at the same time. Which should not be difficult for a person as active as her. She goes hiking with her pet dog that is named Buddha. She has taken up pole dancing, which she claims is very aerobic and a great workout. Sometimes she goes at it for three hours at a stretch and cannot move the next morning. And to all the guys who are drooling at the vision of Serinda pole dancing she firmly says that a pole dancer is not a stripper. She asks for a lot in her man. He will have to be funny, laid back, intellectual and preferably tall, dark and handsome.

Those who have seen her on The Best Damn Poker Show may be fooled into thinking that Serinda is going to be easy pickings at Absolute Poker. They have to think again. For one Serinda claims that only her worst hands were telecast on the show almost giving her the sobriquet of dumb belle. For another Serinda’s game has considerably improved since then. She prefers cash games to tournaments and playing online to playing live.

Playing poker is not the only thing Serinda is doing at Absolute Poker. She has started blogging on a regular basis. It is not a poker blog. She says that if people want to read poker blogs then they would read Phil Hellmuth and not Serinda Swan. Her blog is about herself.
