Pacific Poker Strategy
This style was finalized after over 200 hours of play at Pacificpoker.com with a high positive net gain of an estimated $5000 playing $50 NL tables.
Pacific Poker seems to be the easiest poker room to make money at. The only other poker room is Party Poker (review). There is an overall strategy that should be adopted to maximize your profits at Pacific Poker.
Play Tight at Pacific Poker
You want to adopt a very tight playing style at Pacific Poker (review). Pre flop raises almost always get called by 2 or 3 players. It is to your advantage to not slow play any big hand pre flop. You will tend to get players calling with rags so this poker room warrants big raises with hole cards of aces, kings, queens.
After the flop you want to push very hard with your big starting hands. With aces or kings it is generally a good move to go all in or bet the pot. With kings watch out for an ace on the flop because players at Pacific Poker will call almost any raise pre with ace and a bad kicker.
How They Bet
You will find that the players here like to just call and slow play their big cards pre flop. If you happen to walk into a table with big pre flop raises you should consider changing tables. Limping in with your suited connectors and small pairs will pay huge dividends at this poker room. Hitting a set or a straight almost certainly means a double up. Do not slow play once you hit your hand!
Best Starting Hand
Suited connectors can be golden at Pacific Poker, like many other sites. Since players at Pacific Poker like to limp in with big pairs it gives you a chance to see the flop relatively free in hope to bust their big hand. You will double, and triple up very often with these hands. I cant stress enough how important it is to make these hands pay off with larger bets.
Sit n Go Tournament Strategy
The blind increase schedule is very docile so a tight play is the most benefitial. You can see a good amount of flops in the starting of the tournament for cheap. You do not want to play a marginal hand that is raised pre flop. At Pacific Poker the players will be very aggressive so you can literally sit and wait while others get knocked out and you place in the money while losing very little chips due to blinds.
Multi Table Tournament Strategy
Pacific Poker has a good selection of "Guaranteed Tournaments" These are the ones you want to play in. Pacific Poker guarantees the prize pool no matter how many players sign up. The best ones are the $30k guaranteed and the $50k guaranteed. Both entries fees are less than $100. Use the same strategy as Sit n Go tournaments here.
