Online sportsbetters woke up this morning to find the mega sportsbetting site, Pinnacle Sports has closed to US betters.

Pinnancle Sports said they have voluntarily exited the US market after careful consideration.  US players will be halted from playing casino games and sports betting effective immediately.

There have been concerns about whether pending bets will be honored by Pinnancle.  According to their news release the answer is yes, all pending bets will go through.  Players are urged to withdraw all their funds via the cashier button in their account asap.

The causes of the sudden exit has said to be because Pinnacle had lost the ability to do business with many major banks.  

This Pinnacle Spots exodus is now being compared to the Party Poker abandonment on the US market.  Both companies were the “head” of their market and will or have lost over 50% of their market.  Pinnacle has stated they will lose over 70% of their players.

Worried US online casino and poker gamblers are now beginning to fear that US poker site accepted rooms will begin to fall off such as PokerStars and FullTiltPoker.

Other sportsbetting sites are now scrambling to nab up as many ex-Pinnacle Sports betters as they can.  Bodog.com is expected to grab a large portion of these players due to their fully sportsbook and online casino and poker accepted programs.

It looks like more changes just might be on their way.
