PokerRoom Strategy
This style was finalized after over 100 hours of play at PokerRoom.com with a high positive net gain of an estimated $2000 playing $50 NL tables.
This poker room is very comparable to Party Poker. Players are generally weak at this poker room but seem to be less passive than at Party Poker.
Play Aggressive at PokerRoom
When you are playing the 5 man tables you are much better off playing aggressive. You will pick up a lot of pots. Players generally let you take the pots as they will wait for a monster hand to try and bust you.
What I mean by playing aggressive is betting into flush draws, straights draws, and mid pairs. The players will either give you the pot or you will get called and rarely re-raised as they feel they are trapping you, giving you a chance to hit your draw.
If you make it to the river with your draws and you hit nothing don’t be afraid to dump the hand as you were likely slow played.
While playing the ring games or ten manned games you want to slow your style down a little bit just because of the nature of ten manned games.
How They Bet
Preflop raises were usually respected and not too many players liked to call with rags. Many players play the waiting game sitting around waiting to catch a hand before they bet. Most players were tight and tended not to reraise.
Best Starting Hand
Play by the book when it comes to starting hands. Players generally called off their top pair with weak kickers so your ace-king, ace-queen, etc. were good starting hands.
Sit n Go Tournament Strategy
Players tend to loosen up during the tournaments especially at lower limits. They gamble more often. Watch out for semi-bluffs by opponents during tournaments at Pokerroom.
