Victoria Coren has not been named “Princess of Poker” for nothing.

She wears many hats. She is a celebrity British poker professional. She is a journalist. She is an author. She is a broadcaster. She is a poker commentator.

Now Victoria has added another hat by joining Team PokerStars and becoming their ambassador as a pokerstars marketing spectacle. Victoria is obviously thrilled. She has been a regular player at the PokerStars web site for quite some time. One of her first assignments will be to promote the European Poker Tour. Victoria claims that she always had a liking for the EPT, which became stronger after she won the Season 3 tournament in London in 2006 earning £500,000. 

Because Victoria is the daughter of a journalist, the late Alan Coren, her first professional foray was in this arena. At the age of 13 she was writing a column for the Daily Telegraph on her life as a teenager. Later she graduated from Oxford University. For a while she worked for the Erotic Review magazine. She has written books that include Love 16 and King Lear: Fathers and Daughters. She and her friend Charlie Skelton made a porn movie titled The Naughty Twins, which was a huge flop. However based on that experience she wrote Once More, with Feeling, a book that describes her attempt. Victoria presents two BBC TV programs - Balderdash and Piffle and Off the Page.

Victoria has achieved greater success as a poker player than as a writer. She has been a regular at the Victoria Casino in London for two decades and her game is Texas Hold ‘em Poker. In 2006 her total live tournament winnings was greater than a million dollars. Apart from being a player Victoria is a commentator on the Sky Sports poker program William Hill Poker Grand Prix 2. She appeared in five episodes of Late Night Poker, but could never make it to a final. However in Celebrity Poker Club Series 2 she beat Willie Thorne in the final. In Series 3 of the same event she was the commentator. Victoria is currently at number 10 in the women’s all-time earnings list.

In a recent interview with David Lloyd, Victoria got a bit personal and revealed her taste in music and movies. Happiness Is A Warm Gun by the Beatles is the best song ever sung according to Victoria, though she likes Better Not Look Down by BB King Cole Porter songs as well. As far as movies are concerned The Graduate is her favorite. Others on her list are Some Like It Hot. Top Secret, Blazing Saddles and Mary Poppins.

Victoria will feature along with the likes of Chris Moneymaker, Daniel Negreanu and Joe Hachem at Team PokerStars. The other women players at Team PokerStars include Isabelle Mercier, Vanessa Rousso and Katja Thater. Team PokerStars players play in the biggest poker tournaments under the banner of PokerStars. PokerStars itself sponsors some of the biggest tournaments, which include PokerStars Caribbean Adventure, European Poker Tour, PokerStars World Championship of Online Poker, World Series of Poker and Asia-Pacific Poker Tour.
