A Superuser At Full Tilt?
Written by RogerCP | Thursday, March 5th, 2009
There is a thread in the “News, Views And Gossip” forum at Two Plus Two Poker titled “Scandal involving TexasLimitKing on Full Tilt poker?” It is a long thread with over 200 posts and over 36,000 views. It is about a suspected superuser scandal of the type that plagued Ultimate Bet and Absolute Poker. As a side note, we always fell short of finding information on the guy.
On online player with the moniker TexasLimitKing played for a while at the online poker room Full Tilt Poker with a high rate of success against the best of opponents and then vanished without a trace. The posting began with a transcript of a message from “Neverwin” to Full Tilt Poker requesting for hand histories and their reply. Slowly through posts by other players the suspected story was pieced together.
TexasLimitKing in a dream run won large sums from players like Phil Ivey and David Benyamine in high stakes heads up action. The pros apparently thought of this as a bad hair day at the office, maybe because the amounts did not mean much to them. But one of the losers to TexasLimitKing was Neverwin. He was hurt by the losses and felt that he had been cheated. Therefore he asked for the hand histories of the relevant periods so that he could review them for a possible superuser action. Full Tilt Poker replied that due to the long passage of time the hand histories requested were not available.
A player going by the name “the_nightfox” responded to this post with a tale of his own. He said, “while playing some $100/$200 HORSE at The Rio during the WSOP two summers ago, a guy–who seemed very certain of his source–mentioned that FTP had caught TLK superusering or the like and cut a deal with him that he could keep the money if he disappeared, hence eliminating the potential bad press… always thought it was bs, which is why i never posted it, but i guess now is a good time to mention it.” The general consensus at Two Plus Two seems to be that TexasLimitKing will never be heard of again.
Presently Full Tilt Poker is not reacting to this allegation. However reference has been made to another piece of news that may or may not be related. At the height of the Ultimate Bet superuser scandal, Howard Lederer of Full Tilt Poker explained at length why a superuser scandal was not possible at his online poker room. Now questions are being asked if the need to give an explanation was based on a feeling of guilt.
Some other poker forums are rubbishing the claims made at Two Plus Two. A poster at Gambling 911 wrote, “What a bunch of BS. Now every time someone loses, they cry superuser. The benyamine angle proves it – not hard to take money from that chump.” However it must be recalled that the Ultimate Bet superuser scandal was unearthed at Two Plus Two and the initial postings then were also looked upon with skepticism.
