Absolute Poker and Ultimate Bet Allowing Site Transfers

Written by Tom L | Sunday, August 26th, 2007

Along with the release of 8.0, Absolute Poker will now allow players to transfer money to their sister site UltimateBet. Both sites joined forces shortly after the UIGEA was passed.

Along with transfering money to your account, the sites will also make way for “friend” transfers.

Because of security reasons transfers are not automated.  The AP/UB support team is allowing for a max of 48 hours to allow for site transfers.  Both sites say they’ll be working overtime to make sure transfers are done in the quickest manner as possible.

The interaccount transfers will allow users from Absolute Poker to transfer money to UltimateBet for things that AP doesn’t have, like Elimination Blackjack.  Also, if players want to play on their Mac they can transfer money from UB to Absolute Poker to play Mac online poker.  Both sites have slightly different advantages from a player perspective.

More news was released this week for Absolute Poker.  While upgrades are common, Absolute Poker released what they call one of their biggest upgrades yet, version 8.0.  If you’re familiar with what Full Tilt Poker did not too long ago, AP pretty much did the same thing.

They changed and enhanced graphics, allow for more table views, easier multi-table abilities, and also created resizable tables.  Still no good news for Mac users.  The version 8.0 was not carried over to the “no download” version which Mac and Linux users play on whom don’t have compatible software components to download .exe files.

No word has been spoken about possible player integration of Absolute Poker and Ultimate Bet.  This was the initial goal of the two sites when they first merged.
