Absolute Poker Cheats?

Absolute Poker Cheats? Some very serious allegations have risen these past couple weeks regarding Absolute poker. As you can see, Absolute Poker is one of Compatiblepoker’s main sponsors because of Mac and Linux compatibility.

We are in the process of reviewing all the information regarding the cheating that went on at Absolute Poker.  If you’re just tuning in to what happened let me give a very brief recap.

1.  A few weeks ago suspicion came up that players were cheating at Absolute Poker.

2.  This turned into what people called a “Super User” account where some players may have had the ability to see others hole cards.

3.  It was played off as very suspicious but as of late, hand histories were obtained of a tournament and it’s almost irrefutable that a player could see others hole cards at Absolute Poker by the way the person was playing.

4.  The latest news is that this could possibly be an inside job, maybe even from some sort of management position.

So here we stand in somewhat of a bind.  Cheating definately went on at Absolute Poker and it’s undeniable.  Absolute Poker’s Security Team denied any accusatons (this was before hand histories were accidently emailed out to a player).  They either intentionally covered up the cheats and turned a blind eye or the security team was lax at looking over the claims.

Absolute Poker is a main sponsor of Compatible Poker because they have Mac and Linux compatibility and are one of 2 decent sites that still accept US players.  In fact they are the only Linux compatible site TO accept US players.

We are still deciding on how we want to go about handling this case.  One side of us is completely disgusted over what happened and on the other hand if we remove AP from our list of sites, lots of people straight up won’t have anywhere to play because of compatibility issues.

As of now they have been removed from our US poker page but are still listed in the Mac and Linux sections.  While we don’t think the cheating was widespread, in fact, you’re probably more likely to encounter a colluder than a “super user” account, we do want to make our stance public.
