Analysts say USA Poker Sites Unaffected by UIGEA

Poker analysts have found that after one month of seeing the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act (UIGEA) being officially implemented in the United States, nothing much has changed for poker players and poker sites as a whole.
John Pappas, director of the Poker Player Alliance believes that there has been very little impact on the ability of USA online poker players to take to their favorite game on the internet.
“For many internet poker sites and players, the ill effects of the UIGEA were felt several months ago, if not several years,” he stated. “Most sites migrated to other responsible payment systems and the players migrated to that as well.”
There have been very few complaints received by the million strong members of the PPA regarding increased difficulties in paying for poker entertainment or accessing sites. This is despite a call by the PPA for players to report any type of problem they may have come across after the implementation of the UIGEA.
“We’re kind of the front line,” said John Pappas. “If our members have problems, they email us, and we haven’t really seen an uptick of complaints from our members.”
To commemorate the one month implementation of the UIGEA in its own way, the PPA is calling for donations from members who have already joined the group but want to donate more. All donations are anonymous and players can choose from a number of options ranging from $10 ante donations, through to amounts of $20, $40, $80, $120 and $500 (all-in).
The group is hoping to raise $50,000 on July 1st in support of its advocacy and grassroots efforts through a ‘Money Bomb’ drive. The PPA is hoping to use the money to continue to fund its demands that Members of Congress protect their rights to play poker however and wherever they wish.
