Asian Poker Tour Signs Poker Professionals

Early this year Asian Logic Limited acquired a controlling stake in the Asian Poker Tour (APT).

Till then Asian Logic was active only in online gambling and this acquisition was seen as a move to increase the online traffic at Asian Logic online poker rooms.

However Asian Logic also had big plans for the Asian Poker Tour. In July Asian Logic announced a tie up with the Star World Hotel and Casino of Macau. Asian Logic would run the poker room of the casino and bring to it the largest poker tournament of Asia. This tournament, the recently concluded Macau leg of the APT was a grand success with players like Doyle Brunson and Liz Lieu in attendance.

Now Asian Logic has stepped up the ante on the Asian poker circuit by signing up three poker professionals as its brand ambassadors. They are Nam Le, Quinn Do and J.C. Tran. Le and Do celebrated their new status with fantastic performances in the recently concluded High Rollers Event at the Asian Pacific Poker Tour at Macau. Le won the first prize of $474,358 prize whereas Do had to settle for the third place.

Le is a 25 year old American of Vietnamese origin. He was born in California and is settled there. He started playing tournament poker in 2004 and ha made an enviable reputation for himself. He was ranked at Number 8 in the 2007 Player of the Year rankings, though he has slipped a bit this year. Through his regular cashes in live tournaments Le has accumulated a total prize money of over $4.3 million. His four earlier tournament wins have come in the 2005 Legends of Poker, 2005 Festa al Loga IV, 2006 Bay 101 Shooting Star WPT Championship and the 2006 Scotty Nguyen Poker Challenge II.

Do was born in Vietnam but is settled in the United States. Do quit the University of Washington to enter the restaurant business. He owns Vietnamese restaurants in Seattle and in Los Angeles. Do started playing poker in 2004. The highlight of his career is the WSOP bracelet he won in 2005. The same year he won in the Five Diamond World Classic Poker IV. His live tournament winnings stand at $1.9 million.

Undoubtedly the biggest catch of the three is Tran. Wicked Chops Poker has nicknamed him ?the spectacularly-breasted J.C. Tran. Tran too was born in Vietnam but now lives in California. He holds a degree in Business Management Information Systems from California State University. His poker achievements are legend. He finished Number 3 as the Player of the Year 2007 and currently is Number 1 on the Bluff Power Ranking and Number 8 on the Player of the Year 2008 list. His total live tournament winnings are in excess of $6.7 million.

Having Asian origin brand ambassadors will go a long way in drawing Asians to the world of poker. Tom Hall, CEO of Asian Logic, said,  We have big plans for these guys and are happy they signed with us to spread the word about the APT worldwide. In 2009 Asian logic intends to hold six APT events and its new brand ambassadors will undoubtedly have a major role to play.
