“Our intention has always been to offer our customers a rewarding and varied poker experience. Launching “New Betfair Poker” on Playtech’s platform will help us to continue to achieve this goal,” said the Director of Gaming at Betfair, Sam Hobcraft. “It’s a world-class product, offering unique and innovative features. This coupled with Betfair Poker’s renowned community and loyalty offerings will help us better retain our existing player base and attract a new audience to Betfair poker.”
Betfair has consistently shot down rumors over the years that it intends moving to the Playtech poker platform, and the closest that the group ever came to doing so was when it struck a deal with the software provider to supply games to its Italian and Spanish poker platforms.
The future of the Ongame poker platform is now up in the air, with more and more skins migrating to other networks. Ongame lost around one third of its traffic when Bwin Poker – which once owned the network before it was sold to the Canadian Amaya Gaming – migrated its players to its merged PartyPoker network.
The New Betfair Poker site promises players more recreational poker fans to play against, as well as a different tournament set up. New players to the site will be able to benefit from lucrative bonuses and sign up promotions, as well as an attractive loyalty scheme.
