The Head of Bluff Magazine, the most popular magazine that serves the poker world, is recovering from difficult surgery, it was revealed. Eric Morris was operated on last Tuesday night although nobody would disclose the actual nature of the surgery.
After the surgery on Tuesday, the doctors expressed their satisfaction with Morris’ condition and said that he was breathing through an oxygen mask. They said at the time that the surgery had gone “better than expected”. Morris was able to say that was looking forward to eating candy in the coming days and he hoped to be able attend the Heads Up Poker Championship to take place in Las Vegas in early March.
On Thursday, however, Morris took a turn for the worse – a common problem when it comes to complicates surgical procedures. Morris was still attached to ventilator on the weekend, but managed to relay his thanks to those who had supported him during his hospitalization.
Morris described the post surgery period as an “agonizing process”.
“I am feeling a little worse and more sore today, but still on the road to a full recovery,” he said. “Had to switch pain pills as the Lortab was making my body itch like crazy.”
Later on, though, Morris said: “This has been a rough couple of days in the recovery process,” he said. “Today I’m starting to feel better. Thank you for everyone for the well wishes.”
It was later revealed that Morris had reconstructive surgery on his neck and nasal passage and was undergoing several biopsies to determine the situation of his health conditions.
