Bodog Checks Still Bouncing? – Bodog adds Bodog Open

After months of plagued bad checks Bodog seems to have gotten their act together. Poker players from the poker forum twoplustwo are saying the checks have stopped bouncing.
Bodog announced earlier this week that they have cleared up the issue with their payment processor and all new checks will be free and clear to cash.
The new checks are reported to look fake, but they are being accepted unlike the ones prior. Bodog is also telling players to not cash any old checks and that newly issued checks will have a Fedex tracking number to go with it.
Despite fixing the problem nearly 6 months down the road and frustrating an untold number of customers, players still seem to be playing at the site with an average of 1200 cash players during playing hours
Bodog is also showing that it is serious about entering the poker tournament sector by launching its very first Bodog Poker Open (BPO). The inaugural event will kick off on Monday March 3rd, with a $250 and $20 No-limit tournament. There is serious cash and lots of lucrative prizes up for grabs at this exciting event, with Bodog promising to go that extra mile to make sure that participants come out satisfied.
Besides the prize pool from the buy-ins, Bodog has promised to add a further $75,000 so that participants can enjoy larger payouts from the six events that will make up the Bodog Poker Open. In addition to financial rewards, the lucky winner of the tournament will be able to brag about his or her prestigious title to friends with an engraved Omega Speedmaster wristwatch, valued at $4,400.
The Chief Executive Officer of Bodog North America, Mr. Alwyn Morris commented on the upcoming tournament, saying: “We’re excited to finally give our online players a tournament series where they can battle it out for some major bragging rights and serious money. While there will be more Bodog Poker Opens, there will only be one ‘first’ Bodog Poker Champion, and he or she will have the cash and champion’s Omega Speedmaster watch to show for it.”
Bodog has ensured that poker fans from every sector are catered for in the tournament. From No-Limit to Pot-Limit, from Six-handed to Rebuy – there will be something for everyone at the Bodog Poker Open. Five events will lead up to the March 9th main event that will comprise a $500 buy in. Various low-cost satellites have already started running for players to win their way into any of the events, with prices starting as low as $100. Direct buy-ins are another option to join in the fun.
In recent months, Bodog has been working hard to expand its casino and poker businesses into the European market and became one of the first private companies to apply for a UK operating license. Most companies have, until now, boycotted the UK’s new regulatory scheme, in protest of a steep 15% remote gambling tax that the country’s Gambling Commission demands as part of the requirements, in exchange for the issuance of a license. Bodog’s application to the UK authorities is still pending.
