Bookmaker.com Closed – Bookmaker FBI Warning Displayed

Update: Bookmaker is now using a new URL after the FBI seized theirs, but about 1% of players from the US can actually deposit at the new URL because of FBI issues, using Bookmaker.EU in order to continue servicing their customers. It looks like this will be the new and permanent domain of Bookmaker.com. Personally I now place bets at Bovada.lv instead because they have good depositing and withdraw speeds, live support and don’t have a seized domain by the US government! Bookmaker.com is is shambles right now for the US.

The popular online betting site, Bookmaker.com was seized today after the indictments were finally unsealed a month later. The sites are/were in the process of being shutdown at this moment due to what the US government is calling Bank Fraud and running an illegal business.

Reputable sites still accepting Americans

1. Bovada.lv
2. Betonline.com

Among Bookmaker, 10 other sports betting and poker domains were seized. Those listed are Beted, 2Betdsi, and Doylesroom. Those were the top names among the list Notedly, Doyle Brunson earlier this week pulled his “name” from behind the website Doylesroom, but the site remained with the same name.

This all stems from a recent major close down of online gaming sites including that of when Full Tilt Poker, Absolute Poker and Poker Stars closed last month. If anything can be learned from those poker rooms, it is that the owners worked out some sort of deal with US department of Justice to get their domains back and begin facilitating transactions back to US customers.

Sportsbetting on the other hand has never really been tried on a matter such as this and it is unsure of how the process will pan out. Will millions of customers be left with their pockets empty, we sure hope not!  What is more than likely to happen is that these bookies will forfeit their domain name and change it to something that the US government can’t seize, ie: not a .com and continue their business.  The operators will or are already in a country where they can’t be indicted.
