The House Speaker in Massachusetts, Robert DeLeo, received support from at least one dozen mayors in the state through a jointly signed letter sent to him. The mayors stated in their correspondence that they backed DeLeo’s plans to add slot machines at racetracks in Massachusetts.

There were celebrations all around among Ohio gamblers when it was learned that the state has taken its first tentative steps towards the expansion of gambling laws. The Ohio Lottery Commission voted to aim for legislation that could see racetracks across the state offer their customers slot machines.
