Everleaf Poker Network Fails to Calm Jittery US Players

When the Everleaf Poker Network told its players out of the blue late last week that they were exiting the US gaming market, it was expected that more information would follow the announcement. However, despite various reports, some of them conflicting, it is still not clear how US players will be able to cash out their funds and what will become of their accounts.

While players were expecting an official announcement from the Everleaf Network itself, for now they have to make do with bits of information coming from poker skins who are trying their best to calm worried players, hoping that we are not about to see a repeat of the still-ongoing Full Tilt Poker debacle.

Players were told by Luvin Poker, one of the network’s skins, that the decision to leave the US market (and, incidentally, the French market as well), was not due to any action by the US Department of Justice, and the DOJ had not seized any funds. Players were assured that their money was safe at Everleaf and their funds would be turned over to the Maltese authorities and will be distributed back in due time.

However, this information conflicts the comments made by the representative of Minted Poker, who posted on Two Plus Two that Everleaf had lost a major US payment processor several weeks ago, and that some of the funds had been frozen by the DHS. The authorities then sent a warning to the network that it should halt its services to US players… or else. The spokesman did say, however that he wished to reassure US players that “ALL monies held by ALL poker players, US and rest of world, are secure and ring fenced.” He added that talks were underway with the US authorities to decide on the best course of action to ensure that US players receive their funds fast and without any hassle.
