Full Tilt Accused of Using Bots

Full Tilt Poker, which prides itself on offering top notch online poker services to players across the world, including the United States, has found itself in hot water after a former player at the site filed a lawsuit against it in the Los Angeles County Superior Court last week.

Lary Kennedy said that she is owed $80,000 in funds that were confiscated from her online poker account, after Full Tilt Poker accused her and another player of holding multiple accounts and using bots programs to win their games.

Full Tilt has a zero tolerance policy for bots use and warns players that accounts will be closed if their playing patterns are consistent to bots playing.

Countering these accusations, Kennedy claims that it is in actual fact Full Tilt Poker that is using bots to fill empty seats at poker tables, raising questions on what she sees as the double standards in the online poker industry.

Kennedy further claims that Full Tilt Poker knowingly allows bots to participate at the site.

The lawsuit was filed against Full Tilt Poker as a website, as well as several other online poker pros, including Howard Lederer, Phil Ivey and Chris Ferguson. Kennedy included them in the lawsuit, saying that they had contributed to the design of the site and that they were the controlling force behind Full Tilt Poker’s success.

Kennedy and her fellow player Greg Omotoy are both demanding that Full Tilt reinstate the money to their account so that they can withdraw it, however the site is adamant that the money was earned in an unorthodox way, and contrary to the rules of the site.

Full Tilt Poker is hoping that by confiscating the funds and bringing this case public, it will be sending a clear and concise message to any player considering the use of bots online to think long and hard before doing so. While it may be possible to get away with it in the short term, site experts will soon be able to conclude the use of unorthodox playing patterns, confiscate funds and close accounts.
