Full Tilt Mac Poker Beta a Success

Full Tilt’s Mac online poker beta becomes an instant success among Apple users.

Until recently Mac poker players were left playing Java poker clients. Full Tilt poker’s Mac beta software is allowing Mac users to enjoy all the features that Windows users enjoy.

Java clients weren’t bad but every Mac poker player knows the limitations of Java. Java just doesn’t let you do as many things as the download forms. With Full Tilt’s software Apple users can download the software, take notes, choose avatars, and change table formats.

Although, some are saying the poker client is not without faults. The software does still have bugs within the beta. Some players have had difficulty joining in on the games because the software focuses on users with 10.3.9 or great of OS X.

Some Mac users say they use Virtual PC to play online poker while others refuse to ever install a piece of Windows onto their Mac. For those who are not familiar with Virtual PC it allows Apple users to install Windows and play Windows based programs. Of course the Virtual PC isn’t cheap and you must also purchase Windows. Places like Party Poker support the PC emulator and many say they will never make their software fully Mac compatible.

Full Tilt Poker seems to be going in full force with their Mac campaigns. Advertising promotions can be seen on TV, in magazine ads, and throughout online poker forums. It seems Full Tilt poker wants to not only get a piece of the market they want the entire pie.

There is speculation in the Mac poker world on the concept of dual booting a Mac so players will not have to use the PC emulator when playing a non Mac compatible poker room. Of course most Mac users know this is not an easy task and Apple could have made it happen a long time ago especially with the Intel Core Duo if they really wanted to.

Some of Full Tilts competition in the download Mac poker clients are places like Bugsysclub. Bugsysclub is one of the only other online poker rooms to offer this native Mac poker software. Full Tilt has a much larger presence in the online poker market and Bugsyclub players complain about low player volume at the tables.

For now Mac users will enjoy what they’ve got but Apple users will always be waiting to see what places like Party Poker plan to do in the future. A Mac Party Poker software would make the Macintosh poker players world complete.
