Haley Hintze Reveals Scott Tom, AP Cheater

Absolute Poker, the online poker room that was caught up in a massive cheating scandal several years ago, has made great efforts to move beyond the bad stigma attached to the site.

While marketing campaigns have been reasonably successful in getting players back to the poker room, there are many who feel that the main perpetrators of the crimes were never properly brought to justice and that many players were left out of pocket.

Recently, however, the scandal came under the microscope once more with news that Haley Hintze, a former editor of Poker News website, wrote particularly damning information about Absolute Poker on her blog. Hintze noted that while investigating the affair in her editorial capacity, she was threatened by a number of former Absolute Poker executives, including Scott Tom who was closely linked to the cheating scandal.

Hintze claims to have come across documents that were not published in the past and she believes that this will shed new light on the affair. She essentially accuses Scott outright for being the main cheater in the scandal that rocked the poker industry and even triggered an investigatory documentary by Sixty Minutes.

β€œThe greater truth?” writes Hintze. β€œ[Allan] Grimard and others may or may not have been heavily involved in the cheating, but Scott Tom was the real force behind the ongoing scandal at AP. While there is a miniscule chance that the evidence was somehow doctored itself before it reached me, its content correlates so well with what I’d already learned elsewhere that I believe it to be genuine. In full and honest faith, I believe the images you’ll see to [be] undoctored, and that Scott Tom himself was the primary Absolute Poker cheater.”
