Half of WSOP Field Qualified Online

So how many people actually front the $10,000 cash to get into the Main Event of the WSOP?

Well Cardplayer.com just issued a news release stating that they counted over 4,400 players who made it through online qualifying. The total field size for this years’ 2006 WSOP Main Event is 8,873. That accounts for about 50% of the field.

The site to send the most players to the WSOP was PokerStars with 1650. In second place was Party Poker at 1,023. Following them were FullTilt, Bodog, and Paradise Poker in respective order. The site to send the most Mac users was FullTilt Poker.

So, it looks like there’s a 50/50 chance that one lucky poker room will be getting a ton of free exposure if their player wins.
