As we reported earlier, the stakes increased at local card rooms in Florida. At the Hardrock Casino in Hollywood Florida there were reported No Limit games up to $10/$25.
After word spread of the abnormal and “illegal” stakes they were swiftly shut down.
What seemed to most to be an obvious legal error turned into a short lived high stakes week in Florida. Most card rooms in Florida raised their No Limit tables to the max buy-in of $100. Hardrock on the otherside decided to go a little higher with limits up to $10/25 NL.
A local card room in Jacksonville called “Best Bet” raised their No Limit games to $2/2. The action has brought loose, aggressive play report many locals. The max $100 buy-in doesn’t last very long. Many players end up with $1000 or more at the table.
The weekends continue to be packed. Players are flocking from Orlando and other locations to visit the nearest poker card room. There seems to be a wide mixture of players at the poker rooms. A lot of college players are being seen at the poker rooms along side the tourists, and so far the tourists are getting schooled.
