High stakes poker cash games can now be watched at GSN on TV.
Poker ratings were starting to drop and GSN seems to be adding a breath of fresh air to poker on tv. GSN has launched their series of high stakes cash games featuring poker pros and some amateurs. The cash buy-in is $100,000.
Previously poker on tv consisted of watching the World Series of Poker, Poker Superstars and many other over the night shows. The one thing in common is that they all feature Tournament poker play. Tournament play is notoriously a boring game style with occasional bouts of extreme intensity. Cash games are non stop intensity and GSN seems to have hit the spot with this late night hit poker show.
Rich Cronin hopes that this series will continue to gain popularity because of its uniqueness. He hopes the customers will realize that there is a lot more at stake when the players are buying in with $100,000 of their own money and not sponsored money.
