HollywoodPoker.com Helps WSOP Bubble Boy
Written by Roger S | Tuesday, May 30th, 2006
The online poker room, HollywoodPoker will now offer insurance in this years 2006 WSOP for the closest 5 positions next to the bubble.
The bubble in poker tournaments is commonly referred to as the person who finishes just out of the money. HollywoodPoker’s new insurance policy is set to minimize the risk for any player who finishes on the bubble.
Because this insurance policy is so popular, over 3000 registered so far, HollywoodPoker says they will administer the insurance to five positions below the bubble. If a player does finish in one of the bubble positions HollywoodPoker will pay out the same amount as if they had finished just in the money.
Last years contestant in the World Series of Poker, Carl Ygborn, who finished in the top 561 players was the acclaimed “Bubble Boy”. Although Carl did not place in the money Harrah’s was nice enough to give Carl a seat for the upcoming 2006 WSOP event. If Carl had registered at HollywoodPoker.com for the insurance he would have received both the seat and $12,500 in cash. It is undetermined what the “Bubble position” will be valued at because of prize determinants varying on the amount of total entrants.
HollywoodPoker.com says players can get this free insurance by earning 1500 player points at their online poker room. The insurance is also available by other means for users who bought in directly to the main event or won a seat from another site.
HollywoodPoker says finishing on the bubble is one of the most unsatisfying things that can happen to a poker player but now they can hedge their risk with their insurance. HollywoodPoker encourages players to join their poker room to earn their insurance for free.
