Hope for Unpaid Merge – Picclub Poker Players

Poker players who played off the Merge Online Poker Network may have been caught in the unfortunate position of not getting their due payouts. The reason is that Merge and the payment platform, PIC Poker have been involved in a bitter dispute over money owed.
However, some Merge players are starting to report that they have received their funds and this has been confirmed by the Chief Executive Officer of PIC Club, Chuck Kidd.
Kidd said that Merge has paid up around one third of the money owed to the company and therefore certain customers have received what was due to them.
Naturally, Merge Online Poker network and its players will not be satisfied until all the money is paid out, but PIC Club Poker is insisting that Merge return the entire $160,000 due to the company before all players receive their funds.
A statement issued by Merge earlier this month showcases the dispute between the two groups: “It has been brought to my attention, via comments in a public forum, that there is some confusion regarding a relationship we have with a payments provider. To be clear, it was Merge Gaming, who served notice on our agreement with PIC Club, and the contract ceased to be in affect on October 18, 2009 at 11:59:59 PM (EST) … It is regrettable that I have to respond to the statements of the past week but our hand has been forced. We’ve cancelled our agreement to protect our players, our network partners and our reputation going forward.”
Poker players are furious that they have been caught in this middle of this dispute, however justified one side or the side sounds.
This is not the first time that poker players have been affected by disputes between online poker sites and payment platforms. It was only recently that funds valued at a staggering $40 million that was earmarked for Poker Stars and Full Tilt Poker players was seized by the US authorities.
Yet, within a few days of the event and funds seizure, these two prestigious online poker rooms had paid out their players whatever was due to them, with barely a hiccup.
Merge players are asking why the network cannot settle payment with its players and then take up the issue with the payment platform, especially for such a relatively small sum of money.
