Hoss TBF And His Poker Blog
Written by Matt W | Thursday, March 19th, 2009
It is very easy to write a poker blog if you are playing online. You simply copy the transcripts of the chat and paste it into your blog. That is exactly what “Hoss_TBF” has done for his latest entry. It consists of one long chat with Phil Hellmuth, with Hellmuth doing most of the “chatting”.
“Hoss_TBF” is the online moniker of Matt Hawrilenko. Hawrilenko was involved with Hellmuth and “turnthecaroff” in three-handed Limit Hold’em at Ultimate Bet and came to the following conclusion about the “Poker Brat”.
“Frankly, I’m not sure that Phil could win if the cards fell his way. They didn’t.” This meant that that Hawrilenko got a double dose from Hellmuth – his tongue and his money. Hellmuth ended the session saying, “congrats this is my biggest loss in two years playing online”. Hawrilenko observes that it is the players who berate their opponents the most that lose the most on the tables. Therefore he likes it when someone starts lashing out at him, because it means that he will be coming into some money soon.
At one stage in the session Hellmuth even accuses Hawrilenko of cheating. He says, “U make a lot of good checks vs me hoss. I better have em look at this session, security. … I saw a bunch of your hands when I had ace high and U won em all. … hoss I’m having security review this session first time ever”.
Hawrilenko was not always on the receiving end. On occasion he managed to slip in his own witty retort as the following instance shows. “i wonder if they gave out anti-bracelets how many you would have?” Hawrilenko’s earlier blogs also exhibit his characteristic wit. He was transferring funds to a friend on PokerStars and as a part of the verification process he was asked the size and date of the most recent deposit he had made. After some thought he replied, “ummm . . . $100 about 6 years ago?” Now that would be every online poker player’s dream.
In his own blog Hellmuth promised to turn over a new leaf in his inimitable style. He said that he was so good that he did not need to berate other players. Hellmuth wrote, “Why should I have any negativity in my life at all? I am already super super positive, but why not kick it up another notch? The ‘New Phil’ will try his hardest to never berate another player again. It hurts them, and it hurts me when I get that emotional.” Hawrilenko, for one, would be hoping that Hellmuth does not change.
