Will she or won’t she? That’s the question on everyone’s lips these days as rumors are flooding the poker industry that Lady GaGa may attend the Ladbrokes sponsored Irish Poker Festival early October.
The world famous singer, who burst onto the scene with her number one hit, Poker Face, was invited by Ladbrokes to attend the Irish Poker Open that is set to take place from October 2nd to the 4th.
The busy lady is on tour at the moment with Kanye West but Ladbrokes believes that there is an opening in her tight schedule that would allow her to stop over in Killarney to play a hand or two on the green felt.
“It would be great if she could make it to the tournament,” said one of the managers at Ladbrokes Poker, Andreas Gillberg.
Gillberg was quick to add that Kanye West was also an honorary invitee to the Irish Poker Open as well.
Lady GaGa certainly won’t feel out of place at this prestigious tournament. Besides the fact that her song is all about poker, another celeb singer will also be present in the form of Boyzone beauty Shane Lync who has already accepted the invitation to attend.
The Ladbrokes sponsored Irish Poker Festival promises to be an exciting weekend of poker action, socializing and entertainment.
There is €250,000 up for grabs in the guaranteed main event of this competition, with a first prize of €100,000 for one lucky winner.
Last year’s event drew 832 players to the Main Event, and Ladbrokes is hoping to top that number this year. The main event was won by Irishman Jimmy Sweeny in 2008.
Buy in to the event costs €550, with players beginning with 15,000 chips.
There will also be two exciting side tournaments over the weekend – a two day €270 + €30 tournament starting Saturday 3rd, and a one day €150 + €20 tournament commencing Sunday 4th.
Ladbrokes is yet to have Lady GaGa confirm her invitation, but whether the lady is there or not, this tournament promises to be a resounding success.
