Jacked in PR, Off to Curcao and Vegas

Written by Roger S | Monday, March 1st, 2010

Me and Jay hit up Puerto Rico the second time last week. It was sweet, we got our wallets and a bunch of other stuff jacked the very first day. Note to self, don’t leave all my money in my wallet. We stopped to check the waves at a pretty desolate surf spot, came back and all the expensive stuff was gone. I’d like to post some pics but they stole my brothers long lens camera. At least they left us our surfboards.

God damn roaches truly do get into everything. Can’t say I wasn’t warned. My Dad knows a guy who lives down there and apparently they set up a couple of the guys near the beach we got busted into. They caught the guys, beat the living crap out of them and left them on the side of the road. No bother in calling the cops there considering they are worthless. But the waves were good and the water was warm so fuck it. It was interesting trying to talk to people using my iPhone translator trying to get some cash though. Anyways.

In about 10 days I’m going be heading out to CuraƧao in the Netherlands Antilles. Nick from Casinocoins invited me and a friend (Sarah) to come out there. We’re going to be playing in a pro-am golf tournament which apparently VIP.com sponsors, Casinocoins sister program. Seems like it should be pretty cool and I’m sure the course will be pretty pimp. I’m not really digging the 7.5 hour flight time though. I was looking up online and there are some surf spots there too.

It’s a good thing that Nick said he sucks at golf because my game is awful right now because I basically took a year off because of boxing having fucked up my wrists so I can’t swing the club without slicing the crap out of it, in pain. No joke though, Nick has always hooked stuff up, their program and casinos are solid. They don’t stinge like it seems everyone else is right now.

Literally the day after I get back we’re meeting Troy from Bodog.com in Las Vegas for March Madness. I’ll be letting Jasper handle the bets for me considering I don’t know shiat about college basketball. Matt’s supposed to come along for a couple days but he’s going to snowboard somewhere in Colorado after the first couple days. I’m just along for the ride, and I’m sure a trip paid by Bodog is going to be pretty sweet. Apparently last year they played golf and did some helicopter rides and stuff. I was actually just listening to PAL on a downloaded podcast and I hear Greg Powell is going. I think he’s just going to play some bingo though. :P

I finally tried out Rush Poker at Full Tilt. For a game that is supposed to make you less impatient, that fricken game makes me play like crap. If it’s not a monster I’m hitting the auto fold in small blind. Cool concept, just not for me. Just a way for me to lose money 5 times faster. I’ll stick to the penny games because that’s where my game belongs!

Apparently everyone is heading to Prague for the Casino webmaster super show or whatever the hell they call it. I’m thinking about going, but god damn that’s a long haul. Why on earth they don’t hold them in warmer climates is beyond me. One in the Bahamas would be perfect.

Til next month, later.

I agree dude, wish they had conferences in nicer spots. London in January is a joke, I’m sure Prague won’t be toasty either.

I’ve never been so cold in my life than in London in January. A winter conference in the Bahamas would be perfect.

Sounds like you are dominating the travel thing. Long flights are a breeze, just get some really nice headphones and deprive yourself of sleep the night before.
