Moneybookers has made the final decision to disallow poker deposit / gambling transactions for their US based customers.
With little not
ice Moneybookers, an ewallet provider, pulled the plug on US citizens who want to play poker online. USA players will be blocked from making such transactions.
There is now a popup in place which tells US customers that their transaction was blocked because an attempted deposit into a gaming site was made.
Moneybookers email support confirmed that their decision was made yesterday to comply with US law. Moneybookers is not a based ewallet nor are they traded on the exchange.
This is putting fear into Neteller users who use them to deposit and play online poker. The days of using Neteller to fund gambling deposits may be coming even closer to an end.
Moneybookers works very similar to the giant, Paypal. The fundings use an email system to transfer money back and forth between accounts.
Western Union for poker deposits may take the place of the majority of these ewallet providers that shut down. Already, Western Union says it will not accept gambling transactions but many still use it to fund their poker accounts.
“It is not traceable nor can they stop you from doing so,” said one WU user.
All of the deposit methods and poker sites staying open to the are listed on the United States poker page.
