New Face for Sixth Season of High Stakes Poker

Written by Roger S | Tuesday, November 10th, 2009

The hugely popular GNS show High Stakes Poker has already reached its sixth season and viewers will be treated to a new co-host to present the show beside Gabe Kaplan. Joining the new season of the show will be Kara Scott, best known as the former presenter of the European Poker Tour.

The lovely Kara will be interviewing high stake poker players to find out tidbits about their poker strategy and their play around the table.

GNS’s High Stakes Poker Season Six promises to be all the more entertaining compared to previous seasons, with a massive line up of top stars.

Big names to look out for include Antonio Esfandiari, Patrik Antonius, Phil Ivey, David Benyamine, Tom Dwan and Daniel Negreanu.

Kara Scott will have her hands full interviewing some of the greatest names in the poker world, but she certainly doesn’t seem fazed by the challenge. Scott has served as a presenter for the EPT, as well as a main host for Poker Night Live and Sky Poker.

And the lady is a mean poker player herself! She finished in an impressive second place in the 2009 Irish Open, winning €312,600 for her efforts, and pushed considerably close to the finishing line in the 2008 and 2009 Main Event of the World Series of Poker.

The sixth season of High Stakes Poker kicks off on Valentines Day, February 14, 2010 on GSN and will continue to feature in the same Sunday timeslot.

Besides the previous big names mentioned, viewers will also be able to watch Dennis Philips (third place finisher in 2008 WSOP Main Event) and Lex Veldhuis who is currently part of Team PokerStars).

Not only is there first class poker to be viewed in this show, but the high stakes in this show also add an element of excitement and thrill. As usually, the minimum buy in is a massive $200,000.

Poker fans are encouraged to tune in to High Stakes Poker and watch the action beginning next year.
