New Poker Double Hold ‘em Variant Introduced by Party Poker

Party Poker is making waves in the industry with the introduction of an interesting new version of Texas Hold ‘em. Known as Double Hold ‘em, the game promises “more playable hands, more action, and bigger pots.”

The idea of such a game was first conceived in 2006 by poker fundies, Zvi Lando and Mark Gross. However, it wasn’t until this year that Party Poker was able to get out a fully working version of the game – and the feedback has been great. Double Hold ‘em is available exclusively at Party Poker and the site is running the game in play money or real money versions, which means that players can give it a try without spending any of their own bankroll before they move onto real money play.

The gem in Double Hold ‘em is that there are three hole cards instead of two at the beginning of each hand. Players need to choose one of these cards to be the ‘point’ card and they will be able to see it on screen in an identifiable format.

The game is played in the same way that Texas Hold ‘em is traditionally played at Party Poker, although the difference is felt in the showdown stage. The player can make a hand using the point card that was selected in the beginning, as well as one of the other two cards. The stronger the cards, the stronger the hand.

Curious players are now checking out the new Double Hold ‘em at Party Poker and are reporting back that the extra card is indeed creating more playable hands, which results in bigger pots being created.
