Pissed of Poker Players Get Jason Ho Removed From Stox

A brewing controversy regarding poker instructor, Jason Ho, has led to StoxPoker to remove him as a member of its instructing team. According to allegations, Ho has been moonlighting his services as a ‘poker pro’, claiming to have made over $1 million in winnings in 2008 alone.
On his own website, Ho promised to reveal unwitting players the inside secrets of the game of poker in return for literally thousands of dollars. More specifically, Ho claimed to have developed a strategy which allowed players to raise their game in Pot Limit Omaha.
Poker forums and message boards have been abuzz with disgruntled poker players claiming that they lost thousands of dollars after following Ho’s ‘advice’.
Ho has worked as an instructor on poker school sites such as StoxPoker and Card Runners. StoxPoker has since removed Ho from their instructing staff and both training sites have denied any liability since players entered into a private alliance with Ho.
As a private instructor off his own site, Ho allegedly charged fees of up to $8000 to teach new players the basics of poker. Complaints have surfaced about Ho including other students in lessons that were meant to be ‘one on one, on providing only seven hours of poker instruction for enormous fees, and even shouting at his players.
Dusty “Leatherass” Schmidt, who also works as an instructor at StoxPoker, gave his own opinion about Jason Ho in a recent article:
“While talking to him on the phone we started talking about what we would do in certain situations and I thought his advice was ridiculous so I didn’t work with him again. He was advocating some of the stupidest stuff, and I had a very hard time believing he was a good poker player. He later tried to get me to transfer him my entire database of hands which I declined…I am sure glad I didn’t involve myself with him more than that single playing “lesson” where he just basically taught me what a mediocre poker player he was.”
Poker players should heed their own common sense and stick to good sites that offer free poker tutorials, or reputable poker schools whose reputations can be confirmed.
