Poker Players Ban Together

Poker players are uniting across the web to fight the legal issues facing online poker with PocketFives.com leading the way.
A popular online poker forum called PocketFives has formed a day called “Write Your Congressperson” Day. The date set for this will be June 15th. The purpose of these emails will be to stop the actions taken to ban online poker in more states.
A sad day for poker playing Americans occurred on May 25th, 2006 when the house approved the IGPA or Internet Gambling Prohibition Act. Supporters of this act include that of Ebay. It is still undetermined when the bill will set into action and wipe out legal internet gambling from the United States.
PocketFives leads the poker communities in professional poker playing and many pro poker players’ livelihoods are at stake. The banning of online gambling would force hundreds of thousands of online poker professionals to seek other means to earn a living or to disobey the law.
In conjunction with PocketFives is also the Poker Players Alliance. PAP will help the cause by offering technical email services during the campaign to stop these actions in Congress.
Cal Spears of PocketFives says he urges everyone to write and email their Congressman and also to ask your friends to do the same. The more support and emails Congress gets the lesser the chance of becoming a criminal for playing online poker.
