Poker Pros Matusow and Forrest in Weight Loss Bet

It seems that is more to poker than the World Series of Poker, if the side bets of two poker pros are anything to go by. Mike Matusow and Ted Forrest have reportedly made a bet that could see Forrest earn $2 million off Matusow – and all for losing weight.
The bet goes like this: Forrest is keen to lose weight and when he weighed in at 188 pounds, he made a bet with Matusow that he could drop to 139 pounds by the end of the WSOP. If he managed, he would be rewarded with the $2 million. If he didn’t manage before the end of the WSOP, but was still successful by September 15th, Matusow would still pay him $1 million. BUT if he didn’t manage to reach his goal weight by September, Forrest would need to cough up $150K to Matusow.
Matusow is so confident that he won’t need to pay out $2 million that he had no qualms about speaking about it during the WSOP.
“He has no chance,” he said. “I think he might die. I had him sign a death certificate to be paid if he dies.”
Forrest gained his weight gain on fast food junk. “People have no idea, before fast food places and steroids in the food people just didn’t look like how they look now,” he said. “The last time I weighed 139 was probably high school but I have been in the low 140s as a young adult. That was actually when I didn’t have enough money to eat at fast food places.”
Matusow was delighted to share his pessimism regarding Forrest’s chances with the crowds: “I expect him to easily get down to 152,” he said. “We calculated it with muscle mass and body weight. When he gets to 152 he will hit a plateau of just eating his organs. As soon as he eats one thing he will gain a pound. He will basically have to starve himself and reform his whole body.”
