An exciting new poker reality show that will debut in August this year is targeting the new generation poker player and tapping into the fastest growing market in the gaming industry.
2 Months, $2 Million follows the true journey of four young online poker players (Jason “pr1nnyraid” Rosenkrantz, Emil “whitelime” Patel, Dani “Ansky” Stern and Brian “Flawless_Victory” Roberts) as they set about to make $2 million in only 2 months.
The show, which will be broadcast on G4, the US cable station that reaches 65 million homes across the country, will be aimed at the 18 – 34 year old age group which the station claims to be its largest market.
“There was something there that represented a lifestyle our audience is fascinated with,” Laura Civiello, Vice President of Development for G4. “Every young guy wishes they could have this lifestyle, so it was very appealing to men ages 18 to 34, which is the majority of our demographic.”
This new generation of poker player, according to Civiello, has grown up with the internet and is looking for excitement and challenge in their entertainment and gaming. Civiello said that the internet has changed the way these players socialize and it gives them an entirely new dimension of looking at things. “We’re definitely aiming at the guys who are plugged in,” she said.
These four contestants will definitely be adding an exciting dimension to the show by playing online poker with their very own money. G4 will not be putting up the cash, believing that if the four pay up from their own pocket, they will have more of an incentive to really go for the gold.
“It’s a huge challenge. That’s part of the fun of the show, watching them go on this incredible journey,” said Civiello. “For our audience, both the stakes and the lifestyle are the whole package. You want to come back to see if they win or lose.”
