ProPlayLive Teaching Site Any Good?

Poker, particularly online poker, is mushrooming. And therefore good cost effective poker training platforms will be in demand. ProPlayLive.com is a new educational poker training web site that promises to do just that.

In the first place ProPlayLive.com has adopted a unique approach. Its instructors are all live tournament players who are well known in the poker fraternity. In most other poker training platforms the instructors are generally online players who do not have much visibility. Beverly Pipes, Director of Customer Service at ProPlayLive.com, elucidated, “Our approach was to offer great poker training for both the online player and the live game player who visits casino poker rooms or plays home games and do it with instructors that have proven live game success.”

In keeping with this policy ProPlayLive.com has lined up an array of formidable live games players. They include Annie Duke, Greg Raymer, Erik Seidel, Tom McEvoy, Bill Chen, Alex Outhred, John Lukas, Mark Kroon and Shawn Rice. This august group has won 18 WSOP bracelets and over $20 million in live tournament prize money amogst them. More instructors are being taken on. The lead instructor is Greg “FossilMan” Raymer, who has won $5 million in the 2004 WSOP Main Event and is a member of Team PokerStars Pro.

The instructions are set in a live game environment. Viewers watch over the shoulders of the pros as the latter are engaged in real games. The pros explain to the viewers why they have made a particular play at a given time. ProPlayLive.com has a collection of over 100 videos. This has not been achieved overnight. Though the site has just been launched the process of compiling and collecting the videos has been going on since quite some time. Greg Raymer said, “Since mid 2008 we’ve been steadily building up our video library and now have a formidable amount of poker training video content spanning a wide variety of poker games and buy-in levels, all with top poker professionals as instructors.” The videos can be accessed by the subscribers on their computers via the Internet.

The great thing about ProPlayLive.com is that the charges are low. There are two schemes offered. Option 1 is the Monthly Plan and comes with a $49.95 setup fee, which includes the first month of service, and thereafter has a fee of $19.95 per month only. In Option 2 the set up fee is waived but the subscriber has to pay for the first five months upfront at $99.95 and thereafter at $19.95 a month. Annie Duke points out that a similar content delivered on a one to one basis by any of the pros on board would cost thousands of dollars. She said, “The value to anyone who joins is tremendous – it’s really a no-brainer.”
