Puerto Rico Surf Trip
Written by RogerCP | Monday, February 2nd, 2009
I was going to head to Puerto Rico to surf after getting back from the Bahamas but was too tired and decided to stay home and recoup after losing 17 pounds from a virus before going to Atlantis.
Both my brother and Dad went and after seeing the pictures I’m going to be using some more of the private jet hours to take a trip down there to surf with my brother.
It’s cold as hell right now in Florida, to the point I don’t even bother to check the waves. Unless there is a really good swell it’s just not worth going out. The air temp has been averaging in the 50’s so I can’t imagine what the water temperature is. On the flipside, it’s 85 degrees in Puerto Rico right now and my brother said the water was perfect.
I’ve never been to Puerto Rico but he said it was pretty dirty (as expected) and the locals are big time a-holes. Supposedly they’re worse than the locals who surf in Hawaii. Fights happen all the time apparently because of the locals trying to protect their surf spots. Usually if you’re a good surfer, which my brother is, they don’t bother you but he ran in to a couple of problems with idiot locals. The waves look worth it though, and it’s a change from having to go out of the country to Costa Rica.
Here are a couple pics of my brother, Jay, throwing chunks in Puerto last month.

I’m not sure when we’re going to go but it will probably be in the next week or two. Hopefully sooner. He’s keeping a watch on the swells down there so basically when my brother says let’s go….we’ll call up Bluestar Jets and go. Unfortunately the “$100k” promotion that we won for the jet was actually only a $50K promotion. Bad wording on the promotion made it very misleading. Apparently you can compare apples and oranges and “claim value to something totally different” but either way, I can’t complain. It’s too long of a story that I’m not going to go in to.
Shortly we’ll be surfing good waves and out of this cold ass weather. On a side note, LOL, at all the BS going on over at CAP London right now. What a bunch of goonballs (CAP that is). It feels like the AP/UB scandal but on the casino/poker affiliate side of it. Glad I’m not there.
