Sparring Video, Waves, and More Waves

It’s actually been pretty nice these past few weeks as the hurricanes roll in so do the waves. It’s about the only time Florida gets decent waves without having to wear a wet-suit. Which just sucks period, I don’t care how good the waves are.

Editor Note: If you live in Nevada, New Jersey or Deleware you can now play for real money at www.wsop.com. For out of state residents, we recommend www.Betonline.ag.

The first was hurricane Bill. I snatched this picture below off surfline.com because I don’t have a good enough camera. Apparently the picture was taken somewhere in North Florida where I live, my guess would be somewhere in St. Augustine or Ponce Inlet. The whole swell was a bit disappointing as it didn’t last very long, or get all that big but fuck, I’ll take anything in Florida.

On the down time, and to get my frustration out with work, I continue to box up at the gym. I haven’t yet posted a sparring session but here’s my first video I made. In the video it says round 1 and 2 but it was actually round 5 and 6 as we had gone more rounds before filming. In the video it looks like I’m getting caught on the ropes but that’s actually my way of resting.

I’m still not nearly at the level I want to be before I start Muay Tai but hopefully eventually. I still can’t get over the thought of taking a knee to the mouth…not fun. In boxing my most hated are the liver shots, which I got caught with in the vid.

There’s another hurricane out there so it looks like another week off. :) More waves to bad had hopefully. Hopefully this bitch sits its fat ass right off of Floridas’ coast and spins off waves for a couple weeks….

Later,
Roger

I will have my first attempt at surfing in cali in about 2 weeks. I’m sure I’ll be hooked after that and be making trips down to FL when the waves are good.

That liver shot looked painful, is there anything that can make someone more tired than boxing? I think not.

Man I wish we had some type of boxing or even a decent gym around here. I’ve been chatting with the boys about setting up something in our “guys” room which is a separate building from our house currently with a poker and pool table.

Damn Randy, you must live in the sticks. :) That would be pretty sick to have your own boxing ring in your house though.
