Ultimate Bet on Mac On its Way
Written by RogerCP | Saturday, June 6th, 2009
It’s about time considering their sister site, Absolute Poker, has a Mac version in which you play against the same players on the same Network. Anyways UB has announced they will launch a Mac version.
I got an email newsletter for affiliates only that stated UltimateBet on a Mac was coming soon. To be exact, here is the excerpt from the email.
“UltimateBet on a Mac – Talk about iUltimate. The UltimateBet tables will soon be open to Mac players everywhere. With sales of Apple notebooks and desktops at an all-time high, think about the abundance of cash you can make by promoting UltimateBet to poker fans with a MacBook, iMac or pretty much any other Apple computer. Watch for details on the Mac client at UltimateBet launching soon. ”
I haven’t bothered to ask whether this will be a downloadable or java based platform. They did not mention it being compatible with Linux so it could possibly be a full download application but I doubt it. Ultimate Bet will likely use the same Java software they use at Absolute Poker.
To be honest if you ever read my review of Absolute Poker’s Mac software I was pretty harsh, and duely so. I called it crap, because it was. There were so many bugs that were constantly popping up I never really liked even loggin in.
But to give them credit, they FINALLY redid the software. WAY overdue if you ask me. Its very solid now. The cashier button actually works on Mac Firefox now, lol. Here is the snippet they sent out.
“Absolute Poker on a Mac – Instant Play has been around for a long time at Absolute Poker. But soon, playing in tournaments, cash games and Sit ‘Go tourneys on an Apple will be even more iMazing. AP’s new Mac-friendly software launches this week. Find out more at AP and start promoting this amazing software to Mac users everywhere. ”
I guess I’m off to finally revise the Absolutepoker Mac review to “good” instead of crap.
