Billy Kopp, considered one of the most aggressive online poker players in the industry was snatched up by popular online poker site, Ultimate Bet to become part of its Team UB. Kopp is best known online under his pseudonym “patrolman35”, has proven his prowess for the game offline as well. A side note to Mac users is that Ultimate Bet will soon be Mac compatible.
Ultimate Bet made the decision to take Kopp onboard after his last impressive win, when he came in 12th place at the Main Event of the World Series of Poker 2009. This achievement earned him a little over $896,000, but also ensured that he had finally earned the reputation of a force to be reckoned with in the industry.
Billy Kopp’s latest WSOP win was definitely not a one-off. The University of Kentucky student has earned an incredible eight Top Ten finishes in online poker tournaments at sites such as Absolute Poker, Ultimate Bet and others.
His incredibly aggressive style has had tongues wagging and has seen him knock out even the most successful poker champions in the world. At a recent feature table, Kopp managed to leave 2009 World Series of Poker Main Event champ, Peter Eastgate, as well as 2005 champ, Joe Hachem, way behind in his dust trail.
In addition, Kopp has finished second place in Event 20 of the New Orleans WSOP Circuit – Bayou Poker Challenge at Harrah’s, earning himself $127,832; as well as 8th place in Event 15 for WSOP, pocketing $71,115.
All in all, this player has earned himself an eye-watering $2.6 million in just a few short years.
Kopp’s success lies in the fact that he seems at home both online and off, offering him greater diversity and earning him respect amongst some of the top players in the industry.
