Underage Online Poker and Casino Problems

The number of underage online poker and casino players is growing and eCOGRA sets out to stop it.

eCOGRA also known as the Ecommerce Online Gaming Regulation and Assurance group will stricken their rules and guidelines for online portals to help aid the fight against underage and problem online poker and casino players.

Executives and owners of online gaming sites will meet to discuss new problems surrounding underage online poker playing and talk about measures which can be taken to keep the players safe. The meeting will take place in London and will expand over a two day period. The previous meeting held last year took place in.

These meetings and conferences are to better the awareness of the “Play it Safe” guidelines set out by these online poker and casino rooms. The “Play it Safe” concept has expanded to over 76 sites and has increased awareness among gaming portals.

Online poker and casino operators will be trained on how to spot problem players who are either underage, or have gambling problems. Players with gambling problems or players who are underage pose a threat to the long term survival of these portals and intervention methods are set in place to stop occurrences. Uses of email and telephone contact will allow representatives to further the “Play it Safe” requirements are met.
