WSOP Bracelet Winner Chip Reese Passes AwayBoth Full Contact Poker and 2+2 forums are mourning the loss of Chip Reese today with a post from Daniel Negreanu on FCP titled Chip Reese RIP.

Daniel announced “He passed away this morning”, which sent a wave of messages through the boards all titled Chip RIP.

Chip Reese was said to of had pneumonia like symptoms and passed away in his sleep last night in the hospital.

Reese, who was only 56 was a legend in the poker world for not only the remarkable talents he displayed by winning the first ever $50,000 H.O.R.S.E event in the 2006 WSOP, but his ability to beat some of the biggest cash games in history.

He was not publicly displayed on television like some of the world’s other professional players, but he was a regular member at the “Big Game” at the Bellagio and could be found crushing many of the largest cash tables.

Recognized as one of the best 7 Card Stud players, a master in the art of poker and achieving three WSOP bracelets, David “Chip” Reese will be missed.

Our thoughts along with the poker community go out to his family.
