In the meantime, while all eyes were on the goings on at Full Tilt Poker, with Isildur takes down rival after rival, Patrik Antonius won the biggest pot in the history of online poker by bagging an incredible $878,958 against Isildur1.

Isildur1 has enjoyed a fantastic run against top players such as Tom “Durrr” Dwan, who lost close to $3 million to the mystery player.

However, for Antonius, it was definitely not a case of twice bitten. After losing some hefty cash to Isildur1 over the weekend, the Finnish poker legend won the massive amount across four $500/$1000 heads up deep pot limit Omaha tables.

The enormous pot was won after Antonius spiked an eight of diamonds on the river.

The amount won by Antonius is more than what was previously considered the biggest PLO pot every paid out, when Tom Dwan played Ilari Sahamies and took home $702,925.

Dwan also held the record for grabbing the biggest overall pot until now, when he bagged $723,938 against Di ‘Uridanger’ Dang.

If his short – but certainly impressive – reputation is anything to go by, Isildur1 will not be one to give up against Antonius, and the record may very well have been broken by the time this article goes to press. Isildur1 and Antonius have certainly not finished their heads up marathon, and the action at Full Tilt Poker has never been hotter.

With rumors that Isildur is none other than Viktor Blom, speculations are high regarding when the player will finally reveal his true identity. Poker writer, Barry Greenstein, meanwhile, claims to know who the player really is and has said that he is surprised how wrong everyone’s guesses have been thus far.
